Public Sector Work
Dr Geoffrey Ryan works across both the private and public sectors. Working predominantly in the private sector from the Queensland Eye Institute, Dr Geoffrey Ryan believes it’s important for doctors to maintain experience across both. Dr Ryan’s work in the public sector allows him to play a hand in shaping the next generation of surgeons while gaining experience in new, more complex surgeries.
“I am eternally grateful to my mentors and superiors who taught me throughout my training. I now have the opportunity to pass on this knowledge to the next generation of eye surgeons through my work in the public hospital system. Education plays a large part in my public position and is often the most rewarding.”
